The Shield Security RMS controller will then have complete control of the site CCTV system and will take the required action to respond to the alarm, e.g. call the relevant emergency service or despatch a Shield Security mobile patrol. Obviously a Shield "keyholding" agreement is needed for mobile patrol response.
By the installation of loudspeakers at the customer site the controller can even announce to an intruder that they are being observed.
Other hardware can also be integrated with the CCTV system, e.g. an intercom could be installed with electronic locking to a door, so that a visitor requiring entry would need to press a call-button on the intercom unit. This would initiate connection to the Remote Monitoring Station and a controller would then be able to hold a two-way conversation with the visitor. If required, the controller could then grant entry.
CCTV cameras vary from the traditional fixed units on wall brackets, or enclosed in weatherproof housings, to miniature board cameras which can be mounted in just about anything imaginable, resulting in CCTV becoming more and more popular for covert operations. |
